If you are like me, you are holding this magazine in your hand for one reason- you are a woman.Being a woman, though, involves more than just having a female body.A woman is a profound individual, a vessel that holds so many different characteristics to her soul. I am proud to be a woman, not because of the way women are viewed today as opposed to years ago, but for the different qualities that live within me, and all of us.
If you stand 100 women in a line, there would be so many noticeable differences, from race and religion, right down to physical attributes that make us each different from the next. If you were to search deep inside all of these women, you would find one thing they have in common: a bottomless heart, full of feeling and passion, incomparable to a man.You may have heard a conversation regarding how men view women as being such complicated individuals, and constantly wonder what women want.Women want men to value how simple we are, not how complex we seem to be.
Let me explain.Saying women are “simple” does not mean that we are easy to figure out, that we are plain and undemanding.Simply put we want to be appreciated for our superior endeavors, loved for our endless passion and heartfelt emotions, and admired for our zest for life.Women want to be looked at as fashionable, no matter the size of their bodies, and looked at as beautiful when a pair of familiar eyes sees our face, unmasked by makeup.A woman wants to be recognized by a man as a superlative caregiver for her children, and know he is seeing a woman whose heart is swollen with love, whose hands are gloved with feeling, whose lips are masked with a boo-boo remedy, and whose legs, no matter the shape or size, forms a lap that is the happiest seat in the house.Women want to be seen as intelligent, no matter the degree they hold or the job they have.A woman wants to be looked at as the vessel that a man has trusted to hold the love of his heart, as the person who has changed his life, and as a human being who is an individual set apart from any other in the world.
Every woman wants to feel that there is no other like her.Every woman wants to be unique, but we all still share the same desires:to be able to shed tears, express emotions, and be independent, yet still be loved by all those who take the time to cherish the qualities that live within us.
