Someone you should know: Kathleen Niew

A founding member of Convergent Financial Partners, Kathleen Niew has practiced law for more than 22 years.  She is an attorney specializing in estate planning and probate law and is a member of the American Bar Association and the DuPage County Bar Association.  She is also a licensed insurance provider and the author of a simple step-by-step process to help individuals secure a lasting financial legacy.

What I like most about being an attorney is the ability to meet a diverse group of clients, listen to their issues, and find a resolution to those issues. The resolution must include my knowledge of the law, my client’s input into the resolution process, and then the application of the issue to the law. It really is fun to teach people how the law helps or hurts them and why.

I like to help people solve their problems; whether they are marital problems, financial problems or any other type of problem. People need to have an attorney they can count on to be honest, helpful and ready with the right advice at the right time. Many times, I function in a caretaker role by going with clients to court for divorce hearings, even when I do not handle such cases. But, I always want to help when they just need someone to stand by them.

I believe that you can empower women by representing their best interests with solid, strategic estate planning that will enable them to retain the maximum amount of their savings to retire on or to leave to their heirs.

I went into law because I believed that as a lawyer..........
