Dr. Beverly Carnes-Brinson is an ordained minister and pastor. She serves with her husband, Reverend Dr. Sylvester Brinson III, who is the founder of the Hope Outreach Ministries Inc. and senior pastor of Restoration Tabernacle in Chicago.
Dr. Beverly Carnes-Brinson is the founding director of Healing Waters Ministries. She holds an associate degree in liberal arts from Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills, Illinois, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Roosevelt University in Chicago. She earned a Master of Arts in social work from the Jane Addams School of Social Work at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She also received her Ph.D. in pastoral care and counseling at Midwest Christian College and Seminary in Schererville, Indiana.
Dr. Carnes-Brinson raised two sons, both of whom received basketball scholarships in college, as she worked toward her own mission to achieve her highest potential. She is serving as an adjunct professor and is currently employed as the volunteer services manager for VITAS Healthcare Corporation, an innovative hospice care organization. Through her work, she strives to help those who are less fortunate.
The VITAS Corporation provides a special form of care for people who have terminal illnesses. Under her careful leadership, Dr. Carnes-Brinson leads a great team of volunteers that provide quality care, comfort and dignity to their patients and their families. In her private practice under the auspices of Healing Water Ministries, Dr. Carnes-Brinson provides individual, family, premarital, marital and group therapy counseling services, as well as spiritual guidance. She reaches out by using biblical principles as a reference to the therapeutic process for holistic healing and recovery.
